Happy Valentine’s Day from the Team Behind MR. MURDER IS DEAD
Mr. Murder Is Dead is an original graphic novel first published by Archaia in September 2011. There’s been a murder—Mr. Murder is found dead! Old Gould Kane, long into his retirement as a top cop, looks to be the #1 suspect with a motive so deep and intense even Gould’s old partner suspects him. But the truth is Gould’s the only cop worth a damn to solve the cryptic case. The clues could lead Gould to a new and perhaps even greater profession in his twilight… as a very bad man. Mr. Murder is Dead is a “who didn’t do it” set in the fading world of Golden Age comic strips. A criminal’s lament to all things past, present and meaningless. Written by Victor Quinaz and illustrated by Brent Schoonover (Astronaut Dad). Published in partnership with Zachary Quinto (“Star Trek,” “Heroes”) and Before the Door.

Rust: Visitor in the Field is the kind of book that feels familiar, in a good way. It feels like the books you read in school, the tales of simpler times when people had simple beliefs. It’s about a farm and the young man that struggles to keep it afloat.
It also happens to feature giant robots and jetpacks.
The story takes place in a world very much like our own, in a time after a great war. It could be the United States in the 1920s. Only, in the world of Rust, wars were won by armies of robots, killing machines that turned the tides of battle. It’s like a fable, a twist on a story we all know. Read more
Cow Boy: Blurred Lines
“Cow Boy: Chapter One” is brought to us by the innovative minds of Nate Cosby (Marvel/Image/Dark Horse) and Chris Eliopoulos (Misery Loves Sherman). “Chaper One” is a spaghetti western that follows a hardened boy named Boyd as he fights his way through the west in search of a bounty. Although it’s a bit slow to put on its boots, Cow Boy: Chapter One is an amusing and witty adventure that appeals to kids and adults alike.
The story picks up with pint sized Boyd riding into a dusty town looking for a reclusive bounty. Boyd is what Clint Eastwoods’ inner child would probably look like if he was about two and a half heads high. Bounty hunting for Boyd proves to be a bit more difficult than anticipated when he realizes that one has to be a bit older than 10 years old to enter a bar where valuable information is being held. With a unflinching grimace, Boyd uses the only other form of negotiation that a kid his age would – a semi-automatic horse gun. Backed up against a wall, Boyd has to shoot and fight his way to his criminal prize. Read more
All-Ages Western Tale Concernin’ a 10-Year-Old Bounty Hunter Will Tickle Yer Liver
Archaia Entertainment announces COW BOY: A BOY AND HIS HORSE, a dandy new graphic novel comin’ in March by NATE COSBY (Jim Henson’s The Storyteller, Pigs) and CHRIS ELIOPOULOS (Franklin Richards: Son of a Genius, Misery Loves Sherman). COW BOY’s the tale of Boyd Linney, a 10-year-old bounty hunter determined t’round up his entire outlaw family. He scours the Old West on a horse that ain’t his, armed with a stick-horse what packs a loud holler.
“This is my favorite thing I’ve ever written,” said varmint author Nate Cosby. “And it’s the best thing Chris has ever drawn. It’s an all-ages tale of justice, redemption and growing up with the knowledge that you can love your family…but that doesn’t mean you can let them get away with everything. I’m so excited Archaia is giving Chris and I the chance to bring our story to a big audience.” Read more
